The Lunch Bowl table top sale

Jessica decided to organise a table top sale after school to raise money for the lunch bowl charity.

This is what Jess has to say:

"Sally McGreery came into our assembly and talked about the luchbowl
charity. Its made me realise that we have loads of food and there are
children in the world that have very little, so I was inspired to run a
tabletop sale with the help of some people from my class: Sophie,
Dominic,Izzy & Courtney. We raied £87, that's enough for 270 nutricious
meals for orphans in the Kaliam Slum."

Fantastic! Its great to see year 6 pupils getting involved and making a difference. You are an example to us all!

Wednesday afternoon with Fir Class

Fir Class learned all about Guy Fawkes. They watched a presentation and then they completed a comprehension sheet. There were some tricky questions about dates so they had to concentrate!

The whole class learnt the poem "remember, remember "

We finished off with some singing. we sang make someone happy and started to learn "Si, si si"

Finally, we sang happy birthday to the birthday boy, Puvithan.

Singing with year 3

Both year 3 classes are brilliant at singing. We sang an old favourite " John Kanackanacker" and learned a new song, "All through the night" - a haunting Welsh lullaby.

There was an unexpected fire alarm during the lesson and both classes behaved very sensibly.

Lunchtime

Todays school dinner.

Lots of empty plates!

Here is Ms Walton running book club for years 3 and 4.

Lesson 2 - Hazel class

Hazel Class worked very hard on their recitals of the W.H.Davies poem "Leisure".

Lesson 1 with Willow Class

Willow class worked hard perfecting their recitals of "The Tyger " by William Blake for the BBC "Off by heart" competition Here they are in their different groups. I am looking forward to editing the video so we can watch them in class next week.

NEWS UPDATE : Mr Cull was worried that his class look a little miserable in these photos. I had to point out to him that the children were "in character". This poem demands serious faces!
